Big Bubble Tubs

May 9, 2008

For those of you who like to be hammered by spa jets in a jacuzzi you won’t be interested in the new tubs. These new bath conveniences are powered by air jets which provide millions of tiny bubbles for a soothing soak.

Patterned after the Japanese baths these tubs can be any shape but a lot of people like the square models. These have built-in seats and sometimes can accommodate whole families. Instead of the boiling, tumultuous blasts that leave parts pf your body bright red the bubbles are small making the tub water simmer. The result is a soothing feeling that lingers long after you leave.

Chromatherapy is also available with these tubs. This is a fancy word for “underwater lights.” However, these lights are coded to the seven colors of the rainbow and you can program the changes. Feeding the tubs with water can be a classic, rain forest waterfall or a tube of falling water which barely causes a ripple as it pours down from th ceiling.

Of course the tubs are not cheap but you have to put it into prospective. The new bathroom is two or even three large areas which are becoming relaxation centers. They have couches, a serious audio system and 2 or 3 LCD TV’s depending on where you are in the place.

So, think of this question: Why would you spend $7,000 on countertops and balk at spending the same amount on a huge soaker tub?
