The Stone Slinger

For those of you who have had the problem of having to put gravel or dirt over a wide area of property you know it takes a lot of work, both in wheel barrow loading and shoveling. A stone slinger, which is basically a dump truck with a conveyor belt on the back, can place gravel, dirt, mulch, top soil and sand where you need it and in a hurry.

How Fast?

An experienced operator (which almost all of the drivers are) can deliver about 9 cubic yards, or 18 tons, in 20 to 40 minutes depending on the type of material and where you want it. This works up to 90 yards away from the vehicle so it makes it great when you need to get topsoil to a lawn which is situated over a hedge. The conveyor is simply lifted and the dirt is delivered.

This successfully ends all the heavy labor of delivering materials to where you want them. There is no need to lug the soil in buckets if you haven’t got a wheel barrow. As well, you can direct where the material goes so when one are is being filled up then you can divert the stream to another and so on.

Whatever it costs to have this service it will probably be a lot less than getting a bunch of friends together to do the spreading when a dump truck arrives. You have to feed friends and maybe give them cases of beer to do the spreading!
